Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the Water Leak Audit website, booking services, or interacting with our specialists, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use our services.
We may update these terms from time to time. The current version will always be posted on this page with the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the services after changes means you accept the updated terms.
Services Description
Water Leak Audit is a property maintenance and service platform that connects homeowners, condo owners, strata corporations, and property managers with licensed, insured, and verified local plumbing and water-damage-prevention specialists.
Services include, but are not limited to, preventative water-damage inspections, routine maintenance checks of appliances, pipes, valves, drains, sump pumps, and related systems, as well as coordination of follow-up repair or installation work through our specialist network.
Water Leak Audit acts as a booking and matching platform. Unless explicitly stated, the specialist who performs the work is an independent contractor, not an employee of Water Leak Audit.
Eligibility & Account Responsibility
You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a contract to use our services. By booking an inspection, you represent that you own the property or are authorized to arrange access and services on behalf of the owner or strata corporation.
You are responsible for providing accurate contact information, property address, and access instructions. If inaccurate information leads to a missed appointment or inability to complete the inspection, you may be charged a missed-appointment fee as described in the cancellation section below.
Booking, Scheduling & Cancellations
Bookings are made through our website or by confirmed email. We offer scheduled 2-hour arrival windows and 45-minute inspection appointments. Exact arrival times depend on traffic, weather, and the preceding job; we will notify you by text if a specialist is delayed.
You may reschedule or cancel without charge up to 24 hours before your scheduled appointment. Cancellations or rescheduling within 24 hours, or missed appointments where the specialist cannot access the property, may be subject to a $75 + tax cancellation fee to cover the specialist's reserved time and travel.
For multi-unit strata or commercial bookings, a longer cancellation window may apply and will be confirmed in writing.
Fees, Payment & Refunds
Preventative inspection fees are quoted at the time of booking and are confirmed before any work is performed. Pricing is based on property type: a Condo / Apartment 50-point audit and digital report is $199 + tax, a Townhome / Rowhome audit is $249 + tax, and a Single-Family House / Duplex audit is $299 + tax. A deposit is required to book; the remaining balance is due on-site. Larger buildings, multi-unit properties, or additional scope may be quoted separately.
The inspection fee covers the visit and digital report only. It does not include repair labor, replacement parts, line upgrades, equipment, or emergency services. If the specialist recommends additional work, you will receive a clear, written, no-obligation quote before any further work is performed.
Payments are processed through trusted third-party payment providers. We do not store credit card information on our servers. Refunds are issued at Water Leak Audit's discretion if the inspection cannot be performed or if the service was materially deficient.
Liability & Insurance Disclaimer
Water Leak Audit uses reasonable care in vetting and matching specialists. However, the specialist performing the work is an independent contractor, and Water Leak Audit is not liable for the specialist's negligent acts, omissions, or errors during the performance of on-site work, except to the extent such liability cannot be excluded by law.
Our inspection is a visual and functional preventative assessment, not a guarantee that water damage will not occur. We recommend that you follow all specialist recommendations and maintain appropriate home or property insurance.
Water Leak Audit's total liability to you for any claim arising from the use of our services, in aggregate, will not exceed the total amount you paid for the specific inspection or service giving rise to the claim.
Indemnification, Governing Law & Disputes
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Water Leak Audit, its owners, affiliates, and partners from any claims, losses, damages, or expenses arising out of your misuse of the services, inaccurate information you provide, or failure to follow specialist recommendations.
These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any dispute arising from these terms or our services will first be addressed through good-faith negotiation. If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, it will be resolved exclusively in the courts located in Vancouver, British Columbia.
Privacy & Communications
Your use of our services is also governed by our Privacy Policy. By booking, you consent to our collection, use, and disclosure of personal information as described in that policy.
We may send you booking confirmations, reminders, specialist arrival notifications, and follow-up communications by email or text message. You may unsubscribe from non-essential marketing communications at any time by contacting us.
